Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 May 2026

1. About these terms

These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of soundhiveplugins.com, the customer portal at portal.soundhiveplugins.com, and any audio plugin or other software product we make available (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by SoundHive Ltd, registered in England and Wales with company number 16244113 and registered office at 1 Dellwood Park, Caversham, Reading, RG4 7NX ("SoundHive", "we", "us").

By creating an account, placing an order, or installing our software you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are purchasing on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. You must tell us straight away if you suspect any unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that have been compromised or used to breach these Terms.

4. Orders and payment

All prices on the website include any applicable VAT unless stated otherwise. Payment is taken at checkout through our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. An order forms a binding contract only once we have sent you an order-confirmation email.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example in cases of suspected fraud, pricing error, or where the product is no longer available.

5. Software license

When you purchase a SoundHive plugin we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to use that plugin under the conditions set out below. We retain all intellectual-property rights in the software.

  • Per-user, multi-machine. A single license is for one named user and may be activated on up to three computers simultaneously. Studios with multiple users should purchase one license per user.
  • Free updates within a version. All maintenance and feature updates within a major version (e.g. v1.x) are provided free of charge for the lifetime of that version. When a major new version adds genuinely new work (e.g. v2.0), an upgrade may be offered at a one-time price; your existing version continues to work indefinitely.
  • What you may not do. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, lend, decompile, reverse-engineer or otherwise extract the source of our software, except where the law expressly permits.
  • Transfers. Licenses may be transferred to another person up to twice per year via the customer portal, subject to our transfer policy.

6. Refunds and statutory rights

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all plugin purchases. If you are not satisfied for any reason, email contact@soundhiveplugins.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. Your license will be revoked when the refund is processed.

Where you are a consumer in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you statutory rights in respect of digital content that is faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes those statutory rights.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, supply of digital content normally cannot start during the 14-day cancellation period unless you give your express consent and acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel. By placing your order and confirming payment for a SoundHive plugin you expressly agree that:

  • you want SoundHive to start supplying the plugin immediately, before the end of the 14-day cancellation period; and
  • you understand and accept that, by doing so, you will lose your statutory right to cancel under those Regulations once the download or activation has begun.

Our 30-day money-back guarantee operates in addition to your statutory rights and is not affected by the loss of the 14-day cancellation right above. You can still request a full refund within 30 days of purchase under our guarantee, regardless of whether you have downloaded or activated the plugin.

7. Educational discount

Verified students and educators may purchase plugins at a 50% discount. To request an educational price, email us with proof of current enrollment or faculty status. Educational licenses are subject to the same license terms as standard licenses and may not be used for commercial production by a third party.

8. Updates, end-of-life and compatibility

We work to keep our plugins compatible with current operating systems and major DAW formats. From time to time, supporting an older OS or plugin format may no longer be technically feasible. We will give reasonable notice before ending support for any platform.

9. Warranties and limits on liability

We warrant that we will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Where you are a consumer, this is in addition to your statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant product in the 12 months before the claim arose. We will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost recordings, lost data, or business interruption.

You are responsible for backing up your own projects and recordings. We strongly recommend testing any new plugin on a copy of your session before relying on it in critical work.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service and any associated licenses if you materially breach these Terms, for example by attempting to circumvent license enforcement, sharing your license keys, or using the Service unlawfully. Where the breach is capable of being put right, we will give you a chance to do so before terminating.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify registered customers by email before the changes take effect.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute. If you are a consumer resident in another part of the UK (Scotland or Northern Ireland), you may bring proceedings in the courts of that jurisdiction; you otherwise retain the protections of any mandatory law of your country of residence.

13. Contact

For any questions about these Terms, email contact@soundhiveplugins.com or write to us at 1 Dellwood Park, Caversham, Reading, RG4 7NX.
